Cyndy's mom, Irene, died on 2 March 2007 at the age
of 98 being just a few weeks shy of 99. She shared her final weeks with us in Ayer with the
assistance of hospice. She lived a full life and set the standard for
the rest of us. David's mom, Helen, is in her 94th year and is
now in a great nursing home which is a short distance from us. All of
her needs are being met and she is living in comfort and safety.
Kendall Elizabeth Sawyer joined us on 29 January.
This event and others is chronicled at
Familyphoto 2007.
We are well and enjoying the good life while our
bodies are still working mentally and mechanically. Travel has again
been part of getting out and about. We visited with David's sister,
Jean, in Florida 31 Dec - 9 Jan as a short respite from the early N.E. winter.
A Caribbean cruise followed 2 - 13 April.
There were five days at sea and we visited Grand Cayman, Aruba, Panama, Costa
Rica and Cozumel.
Snorkeling took place in Grand Cayman, Aruba and Cozumel. We toured rainforests
in Panama and Costa Rica.
Cyndy continues to be involved with two book groups
and David with local veteran's organizations and Northeastern University.
Visits with the scattered family in Fairfield, CT (Scott and Maureen),
Nashua, NH (Mark and Jenn) and Westford, MA (Tracy and Keith) keep us
focused and down to earth with the grandchildren. We socialize with a great
group of friends in a variety of settings. David 's golf game has
improved to the point that he will now play with anyone , camaraderie
being more important than the score at this stage of his game. Close friends
visit our home from distant parts of the country to enrich our
lives.
Our families gathered in Ayer for post Thanksgiving
and Christmas Days where we shared a bountiful table, stories, fun, the NE
Patriots and each
other.
The cycle of life continues with the passing of
close friends and relatives, couples joined in marriage, and the birth of a grandchild.
